Half Marathon Training: Week 5 and 6

Another week - another 3 runs! This past week, instead of yoga class I hit up a new class at Lifetime - Booty Barre class. No joke. I thought it was going to be a ballet barre type class. It turned out to be an excellent work-out. But, because of all the squatting and leg lifts, running the next day wasn’t possible. So I had to swap things around a bit. But, it was a great work out and I will absolutely go back!

Can I just say that 7 miles on a treadmill sucks. It just… sucks. I miss running outside. I want the snow and ice to be gone and it to dry up!! I do love that Abby is my little cheerleader though. She pulls a blanket over, curls up and falls asleep to the sound of the treadmill running! It’s hilariously awesome!

I’m posting two weeks at a time this week. I will also move up my 8 mile run and get it out of the way before Thursday as we are leaving on Friday for California! Celebrating our first anniversary! Wine, sunshine and sundresses here I come!!

Long runs + compression socks + kindle = an awesome recovery!

My long run is 5 miles right now and I forced myself to do it outside…and it snowed the whole time. I just couldn’t bear to do it on the treadmill. I couldn’t.
