Today, dear readers I feel like a whole new woman!
Yesterday, I got my hair cut and colored and then got all gussied up and went on a date with my husband. We have a pile of gift cards we have been meaning to use, so we looked through the pile and grabbed four of them. We ended up having a 7 course meal at one of our favorite spots - complete with dessert.
We damn near had to be rolled out of the restaurant. I left with his hand in mine, all giggly and happy, staring at my husband with starry eyes - what is it about a simple date that makes me see my husband like I did when we were teenagers all over again?
I suppose I should talk about the food, since that's probably why you came here in the first place. Today is a pizza we love - modeled after another one of our favorite spots Mill Valley Kitchen.
Ingredients:
1 pre-prepared pizza dough
1/2 red pepper
1/2 green pepper
2-3 sausage links, cooked
1 white onion
1 cup of your favorite pizza sauce
1 cup of mozzarella cheese
- Roll out the pizza dough, and preheat your oven to the appropriate temperature. Usually it's about 375-400 degrees.
- Slice your onion, and peppers thinly - I used a mandline so they were extra thin!
- Cook your sausage if they are not already cooked - I always boil sausage links in beer for about 30 minutes. Works every time and they have great flavor. Slice your cooked sausage thinly and at an angle
- Sauce your pizza dough lightly, layer on the toppings, and sprinkle cheese over the top.
- Bake based on the package instructions for the dough - usually about 15-18 minutes.
